Get to know Gil
Gil’s path started in Aspen, Colorado, as a young newspaper reporter chasing stories. It took him across the country at a variety of newspapers before bringing him back home to Colorado, where he worked as a business and metro editor at the Rocky Mountain News. Along the way, he racked up journalism awards and bylines in top outlets covering headline news, in addition to being part of the publication’s leadership team. He learned firsthand what makes a story worth telling and what makes an organization worth trusting.
When an editor convinced Gil to leave graduate school for a full-time reporting job, he never looked back. That instinct — to follow the story, ask the hard questions, and get to the truth — is still what drives his work with clients today.
Gil’s connections are vast, and the GilCom Media team includes consultants who are experts at public relations, crisis communications and issues management, online monitoring and public policy. He is based in Boulder, Colorado and works with clients across the country.
